11 Health And Wellness Tips I Have Tried And That Can Do You Good Too!

My history as a doctor probably begins at birth because right away I had so many small health problems that have resolved over the years when I started my profession at full capacity.

1. BELLY GONIA

She was my life partner for more than 20 years, nagging, persistent and so fond of me that I had no intention of leaving me. When I discovered how to defeat swelling over the years, I decided to write the book Train, Eat and Smile: re-highlight the intestine and get back into shape with the Re-Start program (LSWR editions). My tummy-defeated program involves the “repair” of the digestive system, the elimination of trigger foods (ie those that trigger inflammation), their gradual reintroduction, training, meditation and stress management. Seeing is believing!

2. INTOLERANCE TO LACTOSE

I am 100% lactose intolerant, exactly like 7 people out of 10 in Southern Europe. Discovering it through genetic testing, at the beginning was disheartening because milk and fresh cheeses were really my passion, but I found solutions that gratify my lot. I suggest my patients use almond, oat, rice, and hazelnut milk and learn how to make spreadable vegetable cheese. My favorite basic recipe (of which you can find many versions in my book) is based on cashews, pepper, salt, and lemon. It is very quick to prepare and very tasty on a slice of bread.

3. CELLULITE

It is an inflammatory state of adipose tissue associated with fluid retention, a pathology in all respects: cellulite indicates a state of suffering and should never be underestimated. I spend most of my days working sitting and, while eating in a balanced way and training regularly, sometimes it comes back worse. Because unfortunately we women, due to hormonal fluctuations, tend to be subject to it. My anti-knuckle strategy is to get in a team position: you have to keep it for at least 10 minutes, twice a day. The idea is to associate it with self-massage with anti-cellulite and disinfecting oils. It works!

4. BIOTYPE

In twenty years of profession, I have noticed that we are not all of the same typological constitutions and we do not all respond to the same environmental and food stimuli. A slimming diet that works for one does not work for another because it is not typed. What does it mean? Just look around: there are oval, triangular, square, trapezoid and apple, pear, hourglass or mix of all faces. All these are different morphological biotypes. I have identified four of them: the cerebral, the bilious, the sanguine, the lymphatic and their combinations. Only by knowing your own biotype can you make a diet that really works and train yourself in a targeted way. Discovering that I am a bilious biotype, I was able to get rid of the extra pounds that have weighed me down for years.

5. ACNE

Around the age of 24, my face was covered with acne, causing me discomfort and embarrassment. Because of a hormonal dysfunction with high insulin levels and a diet that was not yet optimized, I experienced horrible moments because the face is the first part of the body with which we relate to others. Conventional therapies have not given me results. Slowly I corrected my diet to get a hormonal rebalancing, I started a specific supplement and I treated the skin adequately, and so I got smooth skin, without acne and without spots. I eliminated these with special non-photosensitizing peels and personalized treatments. I learned all this by also dealing with anti-aging medicine.

6. TRAINING

We train every day even if we don’t go to the gym. We train our brains with new stimuli, we solve problems, we find solutions and we always aim for improvement. This is training. What we perhaps train less of all is just the body because work, family and commitments take us a long time, often leaving us without energy. It also happens to me and very often, to overcome this, I prefer to train at high intensity even for a few minutes a day, reserving for the weekend one or two longer training sessions. You can try my 7-minute routine at intervals with 10 seconds of rest and 50 seconds of training 7 times, performing these exercises sequentially, to be performed 3 times a week. It works and saves time!

7. ENJOY LIFE

Those who turn to me and need a remise en forme and a personalized program to change their lifestyle are afraid of having to make sacrifices because they associate diet and change with deprivation. Nothing could be more wrong. The knowledge and awareness of one’s body, one’s metabolism, the needs and goals to be achieved will ensure that results will be obtained in a peaceful manner without sacrificing taste, good food, and conviviality. Many of my patients have adopted recipes from Trainers, Tips, and Smiles and from Stay in shape in the kitchen (Dragonfly editions) in everyday life and share them with friends. Try it yourself!

8. Servizi

It happens to me, by desire or by necessity, to exceed with food, but I have no sense of guilt and I do not punish myself with privative diets. I resume my personal feeding routine and, if I feel the need, use detoxifying infusions and drinks to eliminate retention and signs of excess more quickly. My favorite strategy? The juice of beetroot, fennel, lemon, and mint, to drink 3 times a day: it puts me back in shape quickly.

9. RULE 70:30

In my Re-Start system, once the intestine is restored, which at this point has the ability to absorb nutrients correctly, and after detoxing, I recommend following the 70:30 rule, which includes a personalized diet and healthy for 70 percent of the time and 30 percent of concessions. This scheme is ideal for example for the weekend or a dinner with friends because it allows you to quickly return to your routine without particular negative effects.

10. STRESS AND MEDITATION

I work many hours a day on several fronts and like everyone I am subjected to many stressors (stress factors). What makes the difference is learning to manage them, being aware that stress cannot be eliminated. However, avoidable stress and unavoidable stress exist. Recognizing them is already a good step forward. You can also help with the Re-Start meditation that can be performed at any time and place. You can access an inner dimension in which to relax, regenerate and renew. I use it daily, sometimes between one patient and another or while I am waiting to drain the pasta that is cooking in the pot or before sleeping. I leave the longer meditation sessions to the holiday periods and focus on fast meditation that allows me to get results quickly in terms of efficiency and operability. Really change your life!

11. INTEGRATION

Despite trying to eat healthy, organic, zero km foods, many foods are free of vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients in adequate quantities and proportionate to individual needs. That’s why I personally use specific supplements that support me daily. And then because of its protective, anti-aging, anti-cancer, and immunostimulatory function, I never give up vitamin D in synergy with other vitamins, minerals and antioxidants to properly reduce the number of free radicals. With the same criterion used for myself, I propose a personalized and bio typed integration that varies according to individual needs and the season.
